Introduction

The idea of this page is to provide information about which Mustek scanner is supported by which SANE backend. Every Mustek scanner should be listed here, at least in a category like "all parport scanners". For Mustek scanners that are not supported currently all available information is listed. Please contact me when there are new scanners or when a scanner is supported by a backend.

You can also get a list of all Mustek scanners we know about by using the Scanner Search Engine.

ScanExpress CCD series: ScanExpress 600 USB, ScanExpress 1200 USB, ScanExpress 1200 USB Plus. The 600 USB, and 1200 USB and 1200 USB Plus seem to be similar to the 1200UB. I have the Windows source code for some of these scanners. If anyone is interested to write code, I can provide what I have. But it's quite a lot of work. Some people tried to get the scanners working but I haven't got a success report until now. Be careful when doing experiments. The slider may bump at the end of the scan area! Vendor: 0x055f; product: 0x873 (600 USB). Vendor: 0x055f; product: 0x0003 (1200 USB). Vendor: 0x055f; product: 0x0007 (1200 USB Plus). Martin Guy found out more details about these scanners.

Supported by the Teco2 backend

ScanMagic 4830S: Looks like it's a Relisys (Teco) scanner in reality. It's an Avec VM3575. It's completely different from the Mustek scanners. I haven't yet a report if it really works with the teco2 backend. SCSI-vendor: [empty]; SCSI-model: Flatbed Scanner; scanner-id: TECO VM3575

Not supported by any SANE backend

Paragon Power Pro: Very similar to the other Pro models. The commands seem to be the same, but scanning doesn't work nevertheless. Be careful when testing, I have one report that after testing only black images could be scanned even after powering down and booting to Windows. SCSI-vendor: SCANNER; SCSI-model: [EMPTY]; scanner-id: MFS-4800SPPRO.

Paragon 1200 FS, ScanExpress 1200 FS: Nobody has ever sent a detailed report about those. I don't even know the SCSI ids.

Most Mustek parport scanners: See mustek_pp page for details.

Supported by the Mustek SCSI backend:
